Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) is an independent information security certification concentration of the CISSP governed by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)². The Department of Defense has recognized the ISSMP as accredited certifications for the following positions, as outlined by DoD 8750:
Beyond government employment, the ISSMP certification can distinguish its holder from other management professionals within Information Security, since this concentration contains deeper managerial elements than the CISSP in the areas of:
- Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) and Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP)
- Enterprise Security Management Practices
- Enterprise-wide System Development Security
- Law, Investigations, Forensics, and Ethics
- Overseeing Compliance of Operations Security
The ISSMP boot camp is a 4-day course; each day contains 12 hours of lecture and hands-on exercises, with a 30-minute break for lunch and dinner. Classes begin at 7 am, and break one half hour each for a free catered lunch and dinner. Continental breakfast is also catered, and is available from 6 am until class begins. Offered primarily in Colorado, training is restricted to a maximum class room size of 10 students, in order to provide efficient student-teacher interaction. Each training camp includes the following:

- Up-to-date manuals and practice quizzes
- Complimentary Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner each day
- Certificate of Completion
